A Guide To Wedding Proceedures

  Guests arrive
• 6.30pm -

  Bridal Party arrive

  MC announces entry of the Bridal Party (e.g.):

  • Jane & John (Bridesmaid & Groomsman)
  • Michelle & Michael (Maid of Honour & Best Man)
  • Bride and Groom

  MC seats guests, introduces him/ herself, announces the format for the evening and any housekeeping (Toilets, evacuation, smoking area, etc.)

• 7.00pm -

  Entrée is served

• 7.30pm -

  Main Course is served

• 8.15pm -

  MC to announce Cake cutting
  (cake cutting should be done before speeches to allow staff time to prepare and serve the cake)

• 8.30pm -

  MC to announce speeches are about to begin and for everyone to grab a drink and take a seat.

• 8.40pm -

  MC requests first speaker to take the microphone

  • Bride and Groom
  • Jane, Maid of Honour
  • John, Best Man
  • Father / Mother of Bride
  • Father / Mother Groom
  • MC calls on Groomsman to read telegrams
• 9.00pm -

  Cake & dessert is served

• 9.30pm -

  MC announeces First Dance / Bridal Waltz

  • Bride & Groom'wave' for rest of Bridal Party to join them on the dance floor
  • 2nd Song, MC welcomes all guests on the dance floor
• 10.00pm -

  MC announces Bouquet Toss & Garter

• 10.15pm -

  PARTY TIME!!!
