Extract From A Brides Diary

* (Words in bracketed are what Pooles of Music do and have always done!)

"You should look for a reputable entertainment co-ordinator and/or DJ company (most venues and wedding services who have worked with us will attest to our good reputation) with plenty of experience (Bob has been in the industry, in excess of 35 years) and the sensitivity (our DJ's do what you want - not what they want!) to perform at wedding receptions.

Most DJs encourage the bride and groom to assist in choosing music that suits their particular taste. Choosing the music, particularly the all-important bridal waltz is so important. Working your way through the many possible songs can be difficult. Ask your DJ for suggestions. Some DJ companies provide lists of possible songs you might like to consider.

Be careful in your choice of DJ. Always arrange to meet with the DJ in person before the day to go over details and plans.

On booking a short list of suitable Entrance, Bridal Waltz & Cake Cutting songs is mailed out. We then have the bridal couple visit our wedding centre to discuss their likes/dislikes, the age of their guests etc. then assist if necessary to choose their formal songs.

Some mobile entertainment operators advertise a formal black tie service. Nevertheless, you should always make sure your DJ knows your expectations regarding dress. (Our DJ's are always well presented and dress appropriately for the function. A suit for the more formal occasions, or a long sleeved shirt and tie - or smart casual gear for the younger trendy parties)

A good mobile DJ not only plays music but also provided special effects lighting and illusions to create a visual wonderland on the dance floor.- Imagine your first dance as husband and wife, the coloured lights bathing you in warmth as a gentle mist curls up, encircling you with love. (this is where we stand above all others - we have always believed in visual presentation with our sound activated projection lighting, fog and bubble machines which adds a truly magical quality to the Bridal Waltz)

Go over every segment of your reception with your entertainment co-ordinator, musician or DJ (once again during the couple's final visit to our office, a check list is filled out to ensure the finer details of their reception is taken care of) and listen to their advice.

It is important always to bear in mind the age and cultural mix of your guests. So start thinking about your music.
